Dr. Marie Gorski graduated from the Knox College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in both Chemistry and Biology, receiving her medical degree from the University of Illinois. She completed her General Surgery residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St.Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, IL. Dr. Gorski has been in private practice since 1997, first for three years in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, and then she relocated to Southern-Middle Tennessee after being recruited to the region in the year 2000 and she has been practicing General Surgery in Tennessee for over fourteen years now.

Dr. Marie Gorski is a board-certified member of the American Board of Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She practices the full scope of general surgery. She has a special interest and expertise in malignant and benign disorders of the breast. She performs a wide variety of minimally-invasive breast surgery including breast-conservation, sentinel lymph node biopsy, in-office breast ultrasound, aspirations and MammoSite catheter placement for partial breast radiation. She is the first General Surgeon in the state of Tennessee to utilize the DVS system for monitoring breast cancer radiation therapy. Dr. Gorski understands the apprehension women often feel regarding breast problems, and she strives to provide a safe and comfortable environment in which to take care of patients with respect and compassion.

Her other passion is minimally-invasive surgeries including not only gallbladder removal, but also hernia repairs and many other outpatient procedures performed at various surgical facilities to accommodate the special needs and geographic preferences of her patients whenever possible. This provides the opportunity to find her patients the most suitable environment for their procedure and coordinate this with the specific needs of their insurance carriers as well, attempting to find patients the most affordable and appropriate location for their surgery.
